* Indigenous leaders say that if Queensland government ministers are found to have
pressured child protection workers not to report child abuse to police, they should be
held accountable.

* Queensland Premier Anna Bligh says the allegations are extremely serious. She says
she has written to the Crime and Misconduct Commission to undertake any necessary investigation.

* Australia and the US are coming under more pressure not to water down the climate
change declaration that specifies developed nations support a cut in their emissions of
between 25 and 40 per cent by 2020.
