NSW: Crack-down on hooligans for Sydney cricket match

SYDNEY, Jan 15 AAP - Stacking plastic cups into a long snake has been banned from theone-day cricket match in Sydney on Thursday but orderly Mexican waves will be tolerated.
Police today said they also would check the bags of every person going into the SydneyCricket Ground (SCG) for the Australia/New Zealand match, and would patrol nearby pubs.
The measures were introduced as part of a crack-down on cricket hooligans, following36 arrests and nearly 500 expulsions at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) last weekend.
